We are excited to announce the Inaugural Angels of Courage Retreats fundraising event at the Cormorant Pub (located 12.5 miles south of Lake Park, MN) on August 18, 2007

The purpose of Angels of Courage Retreats is to create weekend retreat experiences for individuals who have been diagnosed with an illness or who are dealing with the loss of a loved one.  The retreat center will provide an environment where people can join together to: (a) learn about living with their illness/loss, (b) form relationships with others who have experienced similar struggles and (c) deepen their faith.

August 18th Activities include:

  • 5K Fun Run/Walk
  • Motorcycle Ride
  • Silent Auction
  • Dance—featuring: The Bryce Niemiller Project
  • Raffle

The goal of this fundraiser is to raise money toward

a $25,000 match grant from Dakota Medical Foundation.

5K Family Fun Run/Walk:

The 5K will be a great run for the seasoned runner as well as a challenge for the beginner. Families are welcome and encouraged to participate! This 5K is an enjoyable lakes country run with views of the lake and country roads.
Course - The course will start at the Cormorant Store and will include stretches of pavement and gravel
Time and Date – 9am, August 18th, 2007.
Cost - $25/runner. Registration in the 5K includes a ticket for dinner at the Cormorant Pub that evening, admission to the dance and a t-shirt!
Registration – Purchase tickets online, via phone (Rick 701-238-4673) or register on the day (t-shirts not guaranteed) from 8.00am till 8.45am
Location – Register and start from the Cormorant Store parking lot (map)

Motorcycle Ride:

Come join us on a beautiful motorcycle ride through lakes country to help support The Inaugural Angels of COURAGE Retreat!
Course - The event will start (2 PM) and finish (around 6 PM) at the Cormorant Store, with various stops in the lakes area to draw for door prizes and a little R and R.
Time and Date – 2pm, August 18th, 2007.
Cost - $25/rider or $35/bike. Registration in the ride includes a ticket for dinner at the Cormorant Pub that evening, admission to the dance and a t-shirt! If registering a bike, registration will include two tickets for dinner, two admissions to the dance, and two t-shirts.

Dinner:

Dinner will be served at the Cormorant Pub from 5-7 PM. While the menu is still being planned, we’re anticipating BBQ’s or hotdogs, chips and a can of soda.  Cost of dinner is $5.

Dance:

The evening will conclude with a dance at the Cormorant Pub.  The dance starts at 8:00 pm and music will be provided the Bryce Niemiller Project http://www.bryceniemiller.com/Admission to the dance is $5.

Silent Auction:

The Silent auction will be filled with many great items and we will be accepting items until August 18th.  The auction will be going on throughout the evening.  Please let Babs Coler know if you have any items you’d like to add to the auction. 

****Remember, items can also come in the form of services such as music lessons, dog sitting, childcare, golf lessons, home repairs, etc.

Raffle:

We are raffling off a 42 Inch Vizio LCD HDTV!  Raffle tickets are $1 and can be purchased from any board member or supporter both before and during the event.  The drawing will take place by 11:30 PM the night of the event.
